Remember when it was easy to turn on your Nexus 7’s USB Debugging mode in under developer’s option? Our friends at the big G seems to have made that more difficult for the average user.
It took me quite a while to find it and it took all my resources on the internet. And boy it wasn’t fun.
Why would anyone need to set your device into USB mode? Well it’s for rooting your device so you have full control over it. Not being an expert programmer, developer or whatever you call it. I followed guides on the web but found that most of them are outdated and the developer’s options has been removed in Jelly Bean 4.2.1!
So I’m here to share this quick tutorial on how to enable your developer’s options on your Nexus 7 (only good at the time of this writing).
The mode is still there but it’s just hidden.
To enable developer’s mode on your Jelly Bean 4.2.1+ you need to:
- Go into settings
- Tap on “About Tablet”
- Keep on tapping on “Build Number”
- It’ll say some stuff but keep tapping until it says you’re a developer now
- Now head back into settings and it’ll be enabled at the bottom.
